Job title:  Hardware Safety Engineer. Organization: R&D

Role Specification

Job Purpose:Functional Safety
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:Check the RFQ package, Hardware safety part, for the ECUs under development Check the Customer’ technical offer (Hardware safety concept, Hardware safety plan) concerning customer requirements and issue the selection report. Write and maintain the Hardware safety requirements for Embedded development ECU Achieve or review the safety analysis at Hardware architecture level (FMEDA, DFMEA) for Embedded development ECU Contribute to the definition and maintenance of the hardware safety standards (including RFQ Package).Ensure consistency of the standards with the system functional safety team and Software team. Lessons learnt report for standards improvement.
Key Performance Indicators:Perform the safety-specific part of the Hardware Quality Assurance (HQA) activity on considered ECU projects: Review and report the Customer Hardware safety concept Perform and report the HW architecture safety reviewReview and report the Hardware safety requirements. Review and report the verification and validation activities with regards to the safety Review the customer modification process with regards to the safety and its application on the projectSupport Hardware safety case preparation.

Knowledge:Good Understanding of ISO 26262 “Functional Safety” and it’s methodologies.Should have worked minimum 2 years in automotive Functional safety Knowledge of Functional safety life cycle as per ISO 26262Hazard analysis risk assessment Functional safety requirements Technical safety Requirements
Safety at Hardware: Should have experience of Hardware architecture metrics (FMEDA) and PMHF analysis as per ISO 26262. Experience in Embedded software development using C, should be able to understand software codes and Functional Flow. Should have knowledge of how to operate as interface between cross functional departments for safety related activities. Should prepare project safety status report for weekly review Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Safety Audit and Assessments.    
Automotive background
Additional SkillsAttributes:Microprocessors, Controllers AUTOSAR Architecture Hands on Experience with Tools IQ-RM, Item or tools used in safety analysis Activities     
Key Functional Competencies:Good Understanding of ISO 26262 “Functional Safety” and it’s methodologies.   
Key Leadership Standards:Teamwork
